I don't think rushlink should interpret or modify the submitted data. If any cleanup should be done, that's the responsibility of the submitter.

In principle I agree that the server should not touch the file that is being uploaded. However, it might be a nice feature to allow the user to optionally strip this info (perhaps in the browser)? It is quite easy to accidentally dox yourself when uploading pictures you took at home, and we might want to warn users of this fact when they upload images.
